Mike Heuerman
Program Coordinator

Locations: St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties

Mike Heuerman (pron. “Higher-man”)..Before joining our team Mike was a former Division 1 College Football full-scholarship student athlete. He played Tight End for the University of Notre Dame, his alma mater, and wore #9 for the Fighting Irish.

Mike’s journey to joining Intrepid Phoenix started with a number of hip & core surgeries from injuries sustained on the football field; this led to a life altering addiction to opiates. Nearly 5 years ago now Mike made the decision, in a final attempt to save himself from the disease of addiction, to drive 8 hours to Minnesota and check himself into treatment at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. He’s proudly been sober from all drugs & alcohol since, and is happier & healthier today than ever before in his life.

Mike is an individual whose passion for recovery is astronomical. He lives for the everlasting connection with others & uplifting those around him in all aspects of life. Mike currently resides in Granger, IN, which is just a few minutes away from the campus of his alma mater Notre Dame. He lives with his dog, Hank, who he rescued in Minnesota when he was just a handful of months sober. Mike is an avid reader, a lover of golf & video games, and a family oriented man who seeks to bring joy & positivity to all those he crosses paths with.
